Generator Interconnection

System Network Upgrades

Definition

Network Upgrades required beyond the substation located at the Point of Interconnection. System Network Upgrades are broader transmission system enhancements — such as new transmission lines, transformer replacements, or reactive compensation additions — needed to accommodate the generator's injection at a regional level. They are often the most expensive component of an Interconnection Customer's total upgrade cost obligation.
