Interconnection Study Agreement

Definition

A contract signed between the Interconnection Customer and the Transmission Provider that authorizes the Transmission Provider to conduct an interconnection study and obligates the customer to reimburse all reasonable study costs, typically requiring an upfront deposit. The LGIP specifies multiple agreement types: Cluster Study Agreement (Appendix 2), Interconnection Facilities Study Agreement (Appendix 3), Optional Interconnection Study Agreement (Appendix 4), and Affected System Study Agreement (Appendix 9). Under the prior serial queue process a separate agreement was required for each of three sequential phases — Feasibility, System Impact, and Facilities Studies — all of which have since been replaced by the cluster-based framework.
