Generator Interconnection

Interconnection Customer

Definition

Under the LGIP, any entity — including the Transmission Provider, Transmission Owner, or any of their affiliates or subsidiaries — that proposes to interconnect its Generating Facility with the Transmission Provider's Transmission System. The Interconnection Customer is responsible for paying for all interconnection studies, funding Attachment Facilities and any assigned Network Upgrades, and constructing the generator-side interconnection infrastructure. The explicit inclusion of TP/TO affiliates as potential Interconnection Customers reflects FERC's intent to ensure non-discriminatory interconnection access for all developers.
