Generator Interconnection

Engineering & Procurement (E&P) Agreement

Definition

An agreement that authorizes the Transmission Provider to begin engineering and procurement of long lead-time items necessary for the establishment of the interconnection, advancing the implementation schedule. E&P Agreements allow critical equipment — such as large power transformers with multi-year lead times — to be ordered before the full LGIA is executed, reducing overall project schedule risk for Interconnection Customers prepared to commit funds ahead of final interconnection approval.
