Definition
As defined in Section 1 of the LGIP, the Transmission Provider's facilities and equipment used to transmit electricity to ultimate usage points, including substations, line transformers, overhead and underground primary and secondary distribution lines, at voltages generally below the bulk electric system threshold. The distinction between Distribution System and Transmission System is critical in interconnection because LGIP obligations apply exclusively to generation interconnecting at the transmission level; distribution-level interconnection is governed by state utility commission rules.
