Generator Interconnection

Deposit in Lieu of Site Control

Definition

An additional financial security mechanism under Section 3.4.2(iii) of the LGIP that allows an Interconnection Customer to maintain its Queue Position when regulatory limitations imposed by a local, state, or federal governmental authority prevent it from demonstrating full Site Control. The deposit is $10,000 per MW of the proposed Generating Facility's capacity, subject to a minimum of $500,000 and a maximum of $2,000,000. This deposit is applied against LGIA financial security requirements when Site Control is later demonstrated.
