Transmission Services

Secondary Service

Definition

A feature of Network Integration Transmission Service under §28.4 that allows a Network Customer to deliver energy to its Network Loads from resources that have not been designated as Network Resources. Secondary service is provided on an as-available basis at no additional transmission charge, requires no separate Application, and carries a higher curtailment priority than any Non-Firm Point-to-Point Transmission Service — making it a valuable tool for importing economy energy without triggering full network resource designation requirements.
