Definition
The highest-priority class of Point-to-Point Transmission Service, under which the Transmission Provider guarantees capacity and cannot curtail the customer's service except in genuine emergency conditions — and only after all non-firm service has already been curtailed. Firm service may be long-term (one year or more) or short-term (less than one year), with long-term service receiving priority over short-term firm.
