Network Integration Transmission Service (NITS)

Definition

A form of transmission service that allows a load-serving entity to integrate, economically dispatch, and regulate its network resources to serve its network load on an ongoing basis, similar to how a vertically integrated utility operates its own transmission system. Under NITS, the customer is not limited to specific Point-to-Point paths and can use the entire transmission network to move power from any qualified Network Resource to serve its designated Network Load.
