Grid Operations

Near-Term Transmission Service

Definition

Defined in Attachment M as Transmission Service that ends not more than 10 days after the Transmission Service request date. This classification triggers the requirement to use Ambient-Adjusted Ratings (AARs) — rather than Seasonal Line Ratings — when evaluating the request, responding to ATC inquiries, and posting availability on OASIS. Near-Term Transmission Service includes Point-to-Point service, Network Resource designations, and secondary service where both the start and end of the designation fall within the next 10 days.
