Transmission System

Definition

The facilities owned, controlled or operated by the Transmission Provider that are used to provide transmission service under Part II and Part III of the Tariff. The Transmission System generally refers to the high-voltage bulk power infrastructure — transmission lines, transformers, substations, and associated equipment — through which the Transmission Provider moves electricity on behalf of customers. Functionally, transmission is the movement of electric energy over an interconnected group of lines and associated equipment between points of supply and points at which it is transformed for delivery to consumers; transmission ends where energy is stepped down for distribution, as distinguished from the Distribution System under the LGIP.
