Definition
An assessment conducted by the Transmission Provider to determine: (i) whether the Transmission System has adequate capacity to accommodate a request for Firm Point-to-Point or Network Integration Transmission Service, and (ii) whether any additional costs (new facilities, Network Upgrades, or redispatch) will be incurred to provide the service. The Transmission Provider has 60 days to complete a System Impact Study after receiving an executed Study Agreement, and is subject to a $500-per-day penalty for each study completed late.
