OATT Core Concepts

Parties

Definition

Under the OATT (transmission service context), the Transmission Provider and the Transmission Customer receiving service under the Tariff — the two entities that have entered into a Service Agreement. Under the LGIP and LGIA (interconnection context), 'Parties' means the Transmission Provider, Transmission Owner, and Interconnection Customer, or any combination thereof. This distinction matters because the Transmission Owner is a distinct legal party in the interconnection agreement but is typically integrated into the Transmission Provider role for OATT transmission service purposes.
