Open Access Same-Time Information System (OASIS)

Definition

An internet-based information system required by FERC Order 889 through which Transmission Providers post available transmission capacity, prices, and reservation information. OASIS ensures that all potential transmission customers have equal and simultaneous access to information about transmission availability, preventing transmission owners from gaining a competitive advantage for their own generation affiliates or marketing affiliates.
