Good Utility Practice

Definition

Any of the practices, methods, and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry that, in the exercise of reasonable judgment, produces the desired result at a reasonable cost and in a safe and reliable manner. It is not necessarily the single best practice but rather a spectrum of acceptable practices consistent with applicable laws, NERC reliability standards, and professional engineering norms.
