Facilities Study

Definition

An engineering study conducted by the Transmission Provider after a System Impact Study identifies the need for transmission additions or upgrades. The Facilities Study determines the required modifications to the Transmission System, provides a good-faith cost estimate for Direct Assignment Facilities and the customer's share of Network Upgrades, and establishes a scheduled completion date. The Transmission Provider has 60 days to complete it after receiving an executed Facilities Study Agreement.
