Why LFP for grid storage?

Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) trades energy density for thermal stability and cycle life — preferred for utility BESS over nickel-rich EV chemistries. Cathode, anode, electrolyte, and separator still trace back to lithium, graphite, and phosphate supply chains.

Refining concentration

Brine and spodumene feedstock from Chile, Argentina, and Australia converges on Chinese hydroxide and carbonate refineries before LFP cathode powder reaches cell factories.

Containerized BESS logistics

Integrated Chinese BESS containers reach U.S. ports via Panama and trans-Pacific lanes. Domestic integration (Fluence, Tesla Megapack) still depends on imported cells or hydroxide.
