Third-Party Sale

Definition

Any sale for resale in interstate commerce to a Power Purchaser that is not designated as part of Network Load under the Network Integration Transmission Service. Third-Party Sales require Point-to-Point Transmission Service under Part II of the OATT, as opposed to being served through the integrated dispatch of Network Resources under Part III. When a Transmission Provider makes its own Third-Party Sales to external customers, it must use the same Part II service terms available to all customers and maintain separate accounting to prevent cross-subsidization or self-dealing.
