Brazil Electricity Generation
Net electricity generation in Brazil totaled 750,935 GWh in 2025 (OECD/IEA Monthly Electricity Statistics: Generation (MESGEN) net generation statistics). Rank among mapped countries: #5. Renewable share: 78.1%.
Monthly data is collected from Brazil's power trade chamber CCEE. Monthly production data only include main electricity producers. The rest of the electricity generation is estimated by the IEA Secretariat based on the annual submissions. Monthly reporting includes Paraguayan hydro production from the Itaipu binational dam. The Paraguayan share is estimated by the IEA Secretariat then discounted from the total Brazilian hydro production.
